Why we don't have a car yet

A few days ago my hubby's colleague told him that we're the only one (among his Filipino colleagues here Maldives) who doesn't have a car yet back home.

I expected him to answer that we don't need it at the moment. And he did.

We don't need a car back home because most of the year we are here in Maldives. Having a car is having an expensive liability. We'd have to pay parking fee. We'd also have to deal with amortization and depreciation. Arrgg..I'd rather invest it more on some more mutual funds.

Owning things like cars , expensive clothes, jewelries and the like equates to having assets Right? Wrong!!!

Well I was one of those people who used to think like that. Though not having fully grasped the concept of assets and liabilities (am still learning), at least I know what is useful and not.

We're not being frugal but we're also trying not to live lavishly (especially with the peso appreciating...hala!)

More so, the car can wait until we learn how to drive, hehe. Anyway, we can always borrow my brothers' cars when we're in Manila.

Say it with me, No to unnecessary expense!
