Kidding aside, I think we got tired taking photos and we just wanted to take in and feel Bangkok through our eyes. Although there are some instances where we couldn't resist taking photos.
We had a DIY tour at the Grand Palace on the morning of our 3rd day. Just a little trivia and info, The Grand Palace complex was established in 1782 and it houses not only the royal residence and throne halls, but also a number of government offices as well as the renowned Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
The rest of our Day 3 was spent inside the mall and the hotel :)
Erawan Shrine is listed on the top 10 must visit temples/shrines in the city. We couldn't let this opportunity pass especially since it is just a walking distance from our hotel. So on the morning of our Day 4, we trekked to this small shrine.
A bit of trivia about Erawan Shrine: "The shrine is a very popular worship shrines in Bangkok. Its popularity stems from its unusual origins. Its really just a somewhat larger than normal spirit house. It dates back to the 1950s when the hotel's predecessor (also called the Erawan Hotel) was under construction. The project was plagued by so many accidents that, in desperation, the builders put up the shrine which depicts Brahma riding his elephant Erawan, and the problems promptly stopped. Thus the shrine became famous and is sought out by people day and night seeking the powerful spirit's intercession."
Just like Day 3, the rest of Day 4 was spent in a mall and packing our things for our departure that night.
