Scene 1 Living Room
The door clicks open. The baby (okay, the toddler), upon hearing the door open drops his cars on the floor, scrambles to his feet, and runs to the nearest couch. He's always been afraid of doors opening or any unusual sound.
The daddy walks in, smiling. He kissed his wife who was in the kitchen preparing lunch. He went to his son, said hi and kissed him too. The son didn't respond. So the daddy sat down beside the him. And both the wife and the husband heard the son mutter "yav you, daddy" (I love you daddy).
Scene 2 Bedroom
Daddy and baby were playing with the cars. Out of nowhere, the baby just blurted out "big hug, daddy". When they were hugging, the baby said "yav you, daddy".
~End of Story~
I can't help but feel jealous. EJ said "I love you" twice to hubby already. Both instances were unprompted. EJ only said those words to me once and I had to coax him into saying it.
Why, oh why??
When EJ is sleepy, he looks for me. When he is hurt, he wants only me to comfort him. When we are outside, he wants me to carry him. When he has tantrums, he wants nothing but me to deal with him.
While I work my butt off with EJ, hubby gets the rewards.
How easy is it to be a daddy?
Just kidding of course! :))

aw. so sweet naman ni EJ! nakakatuwa. pero ate wag ka na jealous, love ka din ni EJ for sure. ;)
unfair noh??? he he... jst like my gurl saying daddy first and not mommy while we work our butts off and all the dirty jobs for our little ones... ha ha...
I'm sure EJ expresses his love to you - in his very own way. It is interesting though that he can be so expressive verbally to your husband. I think you two communicate in a similar but special way. How about that?
Vanny - he's really a sweet boy. yun nga lang ayaw mag i love u sakin..hehehe
Gracie - Welcome back! Miss you girl. Ur right, we do the dirty work but our babies don't appreciate it..hehehe
Kayni - That's an insightful observation. I'd like to think that way. But I still long to hear those 3 sweet words from him..unprompted :)
yeah.. i think life is so unfair. i nursed my boy for 16 months and right I weaned him off he started clinging to his daddy.
