I know. Maybe I just had high expectations. Family and friends told me that Boracay is a must visit destination in the Philippines and that it is a paradise.
But when we arrived here last Friday, I didn't feel that way. I wasn't captivated. I felt there was something missing...
But yesterday, everything changed. It's like I woke up to a real paradise. Of course it's still Boracay but somehow it's different. There's magic and I was enthralled.
I told hubby about it and surprisingly he felt the same way. We concluded that maybe we were just too exhausted to fully appreciate the place on our first day. After all we only had three hours of sleep prior to coming here. And EJ was irritable too.
So when we got here, we didn't see the beauty of the place. Instead we saw faults and immediately compared it to Maldives.
I slept feeling a little bit disappointed that night.
It was raining when I woke up yesterday. I thought that would dampen my mood. But it did not.
We went outside and had a good time at the beach. People around us seemed happy too despite the drizzle and the dark clouds. That's when my first impression was erased. There is something magical about the place.
After lunch EJ and I took a long nap while hubby burned his eyes on his PSP. When we woke up at 7pm we were famished.
It was windy when we went out. But it was perfect for our al fresco setting dinner. It added a certain romance to the evening. Along with the seafood dinner, I fell in love with Boracay last night.
My boys are still sleeping right now but I couldn't wait to go outside. Another day to be in love again.

-I am glad you're loving the island na, ehehehe' Tell me more cas...Umay difference nila nan sa Maldives? Well of course aside sa being a one island resort concept here...I wanna know...hinaut makakad-on sab ako. Hmmm..tagai ta idea mga pila an magasto' :-)
ang sarap ng food! :)
kaso di pala ako pwde seafoods. hehee
good to know u enjoyed bora ate! :)
Vanny - Ay allergic ka ba sa seafood? Sayang!
Cas - I think that's the main difference between Boracay and Maldives. Mas alive ang Bora kase isang buong island where people can mingle and party. Sa maldives kase confined ka lang sa isang isla. Although I have to admit mas clear ang water ng Maldives. Pero sabi ni Eric pareho lang daw. And then of course, fine ang sand dito unlike dyan.
Sa gastos naman depende sa trip mo. If you wanna go to luxury hotels, halos kasing presyo din dyan. We're staying in a 5 star (kuno) resort. It's called Boracay Mandarin. It's around $150/night with b/f. Tapos ung seafood dinner namin usually costs around P2,000-P3,000. Pero may lobster na yun!
And then for the airfare, we paid P24K para sa aming tatlo na yun.
Is that detailed enough? Hahahaha!
Punta ka din dito so you can see for yourself. Mai-inlove ka din cguro :)
-Hokies, thanks Cas for the detailed answer. Sounds like Bali baja...Anyways, Does it mean ba na mas feel mo ang Boracay kesa dito? Si Tya Dads, diba mega ikot na sila dyan ng mga beaches pero sabi nya mas maganda daw dito eh (o baka dahil yong isla na napuntahan na nila dito eh me magic ever plus as in VIP pa sila, hehehe!)...
Hmmmmm...I think mas cheaper parin dyan kase diba when you say luxury here as in bongga ang presyo talaga. Like halimbawa I think yong Discovery Shores dyan mga around US$ 600 per night pero luxury rate na yan dyan ...dito yong rate na yan pang yong tipong sinasabi nila dito na 5* rates (having said that alam mo naman dito star rating, kakaloka! hahaha!) At in my opinion yong rates ng 5* Star dyan eh diba pang budget (la star na resort) lang dito diba? I think Bandos lang ang feeling ko na kahit papano eh matino sa presyo na 4* daw pero parang hinde naman, hehehe...the rest of the resorts na me ganyang rates ng Mandarin eh super budget resorts lang un dito na yong tipong run down na …I swear (having visited many resorts here :-) How much more an hotels nila sa Male’ Kaya nga andami reklamo pag moabot na dire kay an presyo nan accommodation pang 1 or 2 stars lang, hahaha!
Kataas nan ako explanation, talagang itinaas ang Maldives, lol!
Anyway, I hope to visit there this coming vacation at sana I have enough time & budget para masusi nato gajud, hehehe...
the beach is so pretty =), and boy that lobster looks really delicious. you take care and enjoy.
