It's only 8PM (8:25pm to be exact) on a Friday night but our little apartment is already devoid of any noise. EJ is already sleeping. Hubby dozed off while watching the French Open. Bliss! Not.
I've got a long story to tell, mostly just wanting to unload stuff.
But before I do, let me take this opportunity to do my much needed jumping rope exercise..uninterrupted for at least 60 minutes. That is if I won't be tempted to vegetate on the couch and just read a book.

We're moving here
Not exactly in this city. The same country however. Does that sound confusing? LOL!Alright. We're moving to Cambodia. It's Phnom Penh to be exact.
By the way that's Angkor Wat in Siem Reap. Photo borrowed from this site.

Thank you
That is the question
Today I have been busy taking inventory of our things. It's a tedious job but I need to do it. Somebody is moving to a new country next month! Oh yeah =)
Hubby and I still haven't decided on what to do with our things. Should we sell it here, give it away, bring it to Manila or ship it to the new destination?
We haven't accumulated a lot of things mainly because I was afraid to spend on things we might not be able to use for a long time. And our apartment came fully furnished. But still we have accumulated some heavy things.
For the things we have accumulated, we cannot agree on what to do with it. All I know is that my jumping rope will definitely be in our next apartment. LOL! I am so glad I haven't bought any heavy exercise equipment (Kettlebells, treadmill, stepper, etc).
When we left Maldives before, it wasn't a hard decision what to bring and what to leave behind. We left behind EJ's baby cot, high chair and walker. It was a no brainer.
But now, it's a little complicated. We purchased a big cabinet and small cabinet recently. Then there's the two-door ref, vacuum, rice cooker, etc, etc. They're more or less one year old only.
So what to do, what to do?

Deceiving
My friends and family have noticed from my photos that I have lost weight. Although it is true that I have lost some more weight, some photos make me thinner than I really am. Thank goodness! Hahaha!!!
Seriously though, friends told me not to go overboard with my weight loss. And some people think I may have been using pills. I have nothing against it but it's untrue. And if ever I do, I must remember to check out the liporexall review first.
After I posted our Bali pictures I received so many compliment. I was in heaven. LOL! I took a breather from my exercises routine and have simply been stuffing myself with anything sinful - doughnuts, chocolates (thanks cas! ubos ko na yung bigay mo!! hahaha), fried food, etc.
And the price? A week of indulgence made me 5lbs heavier!!!
I must put my jumping rope to use again.

Bali tour and the babi guling
Together with friends, we had a whole day tour around Bali. The plan was to go to four places but we (hubby, EJ and I) did not join the last one. EJ was very exhausted already.
So we only made it to three places: Ubud, Taman Ayun and Tanah Lot.
Of the three, I was most excited going to Ubud. This is the place where the famous "babi guling" or lechon/roast pork is being served. And eating lechon was high on my Bali trip priority. LOL!
Since we started late at around 1030AM, we went to Ubud first, in time for lunch. On the way there, we were all imagining the crunchy and crispy skin, tasty, soft meat of the pork. In fact we were all drooling by the time we arrived there. LOL!
EJ threw up when we were almost at Ubud. So when we got there, we went to buy new clothes for hubby and EJ first while the rest of the group went to line up at the famous resto in Oka, Ubud. Yes, it was swarming with tourists. And there was a line to be able to get a table/seat.
We were in a hurry to go back to the restaurant after we bought hubby and EJ's new clothes only to see the disappointed face of my friends.
The lechon or babi guling that were served to us was not what we have been dreaming/anticipating.
It was served with rice, veggies and some sauce. I forgot to take a photo of it. But my cousin did. Thanks Gang for these pics.

It was everything we didn't want for our lechon! The skin was not crispy anymore and the taste of the meat was overpowered by the sauce.....
Hiding the disappointment well. Hehehe
The food was a disappointment but at least Ubud was charming and alive. The gang went on a frenzy shooting and camwhoring. Hahaha!!!

Too fun, too fast
We had a grand time in Bali! The four days and four nights that we were there flew by so fast.
We stayed at J-Boutique Hotel. From their website it looked chic. But it didn't look chic in reality. The rooms were actually dark and we had no view whatsoever. Alright, it wasn't so bad really. It was okay-ish.

But I wished I had researched more before going there. Our hotel was very far from the beach side. It was almost at the very end. We had to take a taxi going to the beach and back to our hotel.
Bumper to bumper traffic on a Saturday night. Note: The traffic can really get horrendous especially on a weekend night! The taxi driver dropped us off 200-300 meters away from our destination. According to him "it's too much traffic". Thus we had to walk the remaining distance to meet up our friends for dinner.
We spent our mornings frolicking at the beach and soaking the sun (it was sooo hot!) as much as possible.
Kuta Beach

Our afternoons were either a nap or a massage. And then the evenings were for eating at seafood restaurants and shopping.
I did mention that Bali is not just a beach destination. It's also a shopping destination! I kid you not. All the beach attire brands are there. There's even a mall along Kuta. It's called Discovery Mall.

I was surprised to see Topshop and M&S inside. I guess I never thought shopping and beach can be had in one destination.
Oh, we also had a one day tour around Bali. It will be for another post though :)

Must do this
Internet connection here in Bali is faster compared to KL or at least in my house (I've had three different servers), which makes it easy to update this blog. I have to!!! LOL
~~
I've seen a really cute ceiling fan in a restaurant the other day and it made me want to have something like it for our condo in Manila. Maybe I should have a look at discount ceiling fans for choices. Hehehe.
~~
Now excuse me while we go to the beach for the last time. EJ must have his fill of the beach so he will not bug us for another trip to the beach soon.

I am still here
I know I have been AWOL for more than a week but I am still here....
There are several reasons for my absence: verrrry slow internet connection at home, we got visitors and finally we're still here in Bali!!!
We'll be flying back to KL this afternoon and I hope my internet connection at home had time to rest and should work faster when I get home. LOL
About Bali, well, there's so many things to tell. All I can say is that if you want to go shopping and be at the beach too, then Bali is the place for you. You can even buy wholesale products!!! Honestly.
I'll do the storytelling with pictures of course I when get home.

Happy Mom's Day
Mother's Day came in early for me. When I picked up EJ from school last Thursday he had this in his bag:

I am one hundred percent sure he did the doodle on the bottom part of the card. LOL Nevertheless I love it! It's my son's first DIY (with a lot of help from the aunties I am sure! hehe) card for me.
And inside the card was a necklace! The principal, Ms. Jenny who happened to be there told me, EJ did it all by himself! It's beautiful, isn't it?
I am going to wear this on our beach trip next week!
To all the indefatigable mothers all over the world, Happy Mother's Day!!!

Expression of happiness
EJ is expressive. Sometimes we are amazed with the range of emotions he can show, including when he is angry. Hehehe.
Last night, hubby bought him a car. It was a "ferrari" car. When we opened the box, he exclaimed in delight. It was indeed his favorite car.
He asked his daddy to take a picture of him and his "favorite, shiny, red ferrari". We asked him to show how happy he was. Look at the smile he gave.
Below is his newest favorite car. He took this photo. Not bad for a two-year old, right?

5 a day
I am trying to eat at least 5 servings of fruits a day. That's part of my trying to "eat healthy" campaign.
The usual fruits I buy are: mango (sometimes dried mango, hahaha!!), grapes, papaya, watermelon, apple, orange and lanzones if I get lucky.
If I can have my way and if it's available year round, I'd eat lanzones everyday. It's my favorite fruit!
But since it's seasonal, I eat what's available on the market.
Currently I am addicted to papaya. And I just found out that papaya has far more benefits than I thought.
Among the many benefits of papaya, I am delighted to find out that it is a great cleanser. The fiber in papaya flushes out the cancer-causing toxins in the colon. So if you want to have a cheap colon cleanse, eat more papayas.
Having a cancerous genes from my mother's family, I am afraid that I'd inherit those genes. So knowing all the right food to eat while I am still young and healthy is very precious. Prevention is definitely better than cure.
I must always remember from now on to put in my tray basket a lot of papaya and green tea during my grocery trips..
