My little young man shaking hands with Mickey Mouse (Tokyo Disneyland)
Hubby has to go to the office early today so I brought EJ to school this morning.
Before we left home, he told me "Mom, can you just stay in the car?"
"Why?" I asked.
"I want to do this myself. I want to go inside the school by myself." He answered.
"Hmmm." I thought he was not serious. I just let it go.
When we were in the car already, he said "Mom, can you sit in this side?" (left side of the car)
"But I have to go down first, so I can bring down your bag." I told him.
"I told you already, you just stay in the car. I'll go on my own."
Wow! He was serious. So I sat on the left side of the car. When we were in front of their school gate, he opened the door and took his bag. He would have gone inside the school without kissing me if I did not call him.
Oh my gosh! I almost cried. Well, actually I did. Hahahaha!!!
EJ's becoming more independent each day. One day, he won't need me anymore. LOL!
Seriously, it's a bittersweet moment. As parents, you want your kids to be independent. You teach them everyday how to do things their way and eventually stand up on their own. But when you see them actually becoming independent, you feel kind of useless. Hahaha!!!
Never mind me. I am just a being melodramatic today. Must be the weather.
I sent a text message to hubby telling him what just transpired. He said "That's new, he normally let me go down the car and go with him inside the school."
Awww....welcome to independence my baby. I mean, my son.
